It’s hard to believe that two years have passed since the first package of author copies of my book, Thinking of Miller Place: A Memoir of Summer Comfort, arrived at my door.
Since that day, this simple book, my first book, has opened doors, hearts, and friendships in book clubs, service organizations, churches, reading groups, school, colleges, Toastmasters, libraries, historical societies, writing groups, and individuals.
The positive response to the book has been overwhelming, so much so that I keep thinking, “Wouldn't this make a great story!” A story of people who have written me or come up to me after a book event to say, “Let me tell you of my red ribbon moment” or “My Miller Place was at the Jersey Shore,” or "Lake Michigan" or "a beach in Albania." I am honored to receive e-mails and letters from readers telling me their summer story, their first crush, or of the family member who was their hero. It makes me realize yet again, we are more alike than we are different.
And now I begin a new chapter of continuing my love affair with words- in the beautiful sunshine of Tucson, Arizona. Far different from Long Island, Manhattan and New Jersey.

A second memoir is in the works. Impressions of a suburbanite in the desert are calling to be put into words. Can a NJ girl learn to pump her own gas? Will 'hydrate' really become a part of my daily routine? Will phrases like "But it's a dry heat" fall effortlessly outof my mouth?
I've got all the time in the world to find out. Check in with me when you've got time.
