THE EASTSIDE WRITING ROOM – JANUARY 2019

JANUARY 2019

Now we are 6! Six years of Tuesday writing. It’s just the thing for busy writers.

We welcome the New Year and adult writers (published, not published, just starting, resuming) of all genres to join us as we write. This group is not for instruction, sharing, or critiquing. It’s solely for writing.

People have mentioned that they could simply do that at home or at the coffee shop. Yes, true, and yet when I ask, “But do you actually do that?” there’s often a pause and shrug…

No time to write? No place in your house for quiet? Too many digital temptations or house/family chores? Commit and claim your two hours each Tuesday just for you and your writing. Sometimes we’re in the groove and the writing goes on for more than two hours. Set your writing intention each week in a quiet, serene atmosphere. No interruptions. No cell phones. No fee. Join us each week or as your time allows.

TUESDAYS  11:30 AM-1:30 PM

Two hours of quiet writing time. Wireless networking available. Hostess provides beverages. Feel free to bring a snack.

We begin at 11:30 but gather @ 11:15. Ten min. of writing talk, stating intentions for the two-hour writing session, and then writing on your own project—longhand, computer etc. We rotate weekly among three Eastside locations. P

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2019   9:30-11:30 AM

Tucson Tellers of Tales February meeting features Ron Lancaster and Ethel Lee-Miller. They’ll share stories that will open you up to the humor in life.
It feels good to laugh. Laughter promotes an overall sense of well-being. Smiles and laughter provide a hefty non-verbal connection. Q&A, books for sale. Light refreshments will be served.

COME LAUGH WITH US!

Where: 1200 N. El Dorado Place Suite B-200 Harmony Meeting Room Tucson AZ (Eastside). $5.00 donation requested.

Why:  It’s fun; laughter decreases stress; we want you to come.

How: Come on over, park in any of the ample spaces, make the suggested donation of $5.00, grab some refreshments, meet up with friends (new and old), have a seat, and get ready to laugh.

“The way to the heart is through the funny bone.”

Ethel Lee-Miller continues her love affair… with words, resulting in two published books, several anthologies, writing workshops, storytelling events, 100s of blog essays, and Facebook posts. She loves to read, write, hike, be with people, and laugh. This is her first collaboration with Ron.

Come Laugh
with Us!

Ron Lancaster has been telling stories out of school since he was out of school. He had both a radio and TV show called “Stories for the Whole Family.” His specialty is gentle stories for the heart laced with laughter and deep thought.  Raised up a good Catholic boy around a whole passel of siblings here in Tucson, but he wised up in Los Angeles while toiling on the outskirts of fame as a comedian.
