Observed poolside at a family reunion:
When our grandson was but a young lad, he stared at his cousin and asked, “So, if these are called armpits, why aren’t these called leg pits?”
What we witnessed next can only be described as brilliant.
They both stared at each other, then at their legs. Almost in unison, they each did a yoga-like twist to gaze ‘round at the backs of their legs. They did exactly two measured lift and bend poses of the right, then left, leg.
The moment concluded with satisfied smiles as they resumed their meditative consumption of blueberry popsicles, the sustenance of choice for yogis in the making.
With sincere thanks to Penelope Starr for a word play post, reunion memories, and my yoga training.
